Finding Hope and Healing in the Face of Loss

May 21 presentation: Finding Hope and Healing in the Face of Loss

How can we find light in the darkness of grief? Where do we find hope when everything feels hopeless? When life falls apart, we need God more than ever. Join us for an evening of hope and healing for those who are grieving.  On Wednesday, May 21, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Church, author Mary Portzen will share her story.

Multiple losses of a mother, husband and grandson in the space of three years thrust Mary Portzen down a path of faith, leading to a personal relationship with God. Mary chronicled her faith journey in "Refined by Fire: A Journey of Grief and Grace,"  published under Mary Potter Kenyon.  Mary graduated from UNI and is a certified grief counselor trained under world-renown grief expert David Kessler.

Mary's presentation will be Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30 PM in the Commons.  Anyone who is experiencing the loss of a loved one, no matter how long ago the death happened, is welcome.  Feel free to bring a friend!
