Elijah recognized the voice of God not in the strong and heavy wind, not in the earthquake, and not in the fire, but in a tiny whispering sound. May we find enough quiet in our clamorous world to hear His voice and discern what He is calling us to do and be.

Parish News
Flood of 2008 Updates
St. Patrick Parish has been blessed with a wonderful, generous monetary donation from Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Parish members there heard about the May 25th tornado and the massive flooding. Some members of Our Lady of Sorrows have relatives in this area and felt the call of the Holy Spirit to do what they could to help. We want to be good stewards of this donation. We are asking parish members to please let us know if you have sustained tornado or flood damage and are in need of financial help. read more ...

Invest in YOUR Community

Catholic Schools build upon a proud past, a commitment to faith formation, a values-based education, and universal respect as they anticipate a promising future. Most importantly, a Catholic school approaches education of the whole child: mind, body, and spirit. We believe every student should have the choice for a Catholic education and with your support, we will secure that right for every child. As an Iowa taxpayer, you can contribute to the Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future School Tuition Organization and receive an Iowa tax credit equal to 65% of your donation. The amount you contribute also qualifies as a charitable donation on your federal tax return. Support your community and invest in Catholic education! Give today at www.arch.pvt.k12.ia.us or call 563-556-2580 ext 256.

BLOOD DRIVE

St. Patrick Parish will host its next American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, October 16, 2008, in the gym. Please plan accordingly so that you can help by donating blood!

SAVE THIS DATE!

A memorable gift and the opportunity to speak to our children and close relatives one last time is presented to us when we take the time to do the major planning for our own funeral service. No matter your age, it is something we can help you with. Mark Saturday, October 11, 2008, from 9:00–11:30 am for a funeral planning workshop to be held in the parish commons. The $5.00 fee covers the planning materials and coffee/juice/ donuts. Registration begins Monday, September 15, 2008.

All of Creation

Buy Fresh / Buy LocalFair trade products, such as coffee and tea, are grown, harvested and sold by cooperatives of families who earn their living this way. Why not look for other available fair trade products, such as bananas, chocolate, honey, orange juice, pineapple, rice, sugar, and many others. Also, shop at your local farmer’s markets for locally grown produce, flowers and home made items.
