8 Components of Youth Ministry
Through the 8 components of Youth Ministry, we the members of Saint Patrick Youth Ministry are able to recognize the unique gifts and talents that each person brings. It is through these areas that we are strengthened in our Catholic faith and realize that being Catholic is a life long journey. We are committed to these areas in a variety of
different ways. Youth Ministry is by, for and with the youth of Saint Patrick.

Catechesis- Through small groups, speakers, large group, Retreat Team, NCYC, Catholic, youth rallies, retreats, and other experiences, we learn about and strengthen our Catholic faith

Community life-We celebrate each other and form closer bonds through a variety of activities like NCYC, parent teen night at Confirmation, Senior's Prom, caroling, Valentine's Day Italian dinner, sledding, tubing, bowling, hide and seek, movie nights, scavenger hunts, St. Patrick's Day race, Friday Afternoon Club, lock-ins, etc

Evangelization-We spread the Word of God to others by inviting others to our activities and sharing ourselves with each other. We send out newsletters, e-mails, calling, announcements in the bulletin, and writing notes.

Prayer and worship-We worship together in a variety of ways such as lectors, ushers, Eucharistic ministers and singing at Mass, prayer services, youth rallies, bible studies, NCYC, Catholic Heart Workcamp, etc.

Justice and service- we recognize how lucky we are and give back to the community. We do this by service hours for Confirmation, Valentine's Day food drive, Catholics In Action, service trips, helping at Catholic Worker House, Community Meals and other service-oriented activities

Pastoral care- we recognize part of our role as Christians is to provide support to those who need it, as well as love. We do this by sending birthday cards, encouraging notes, supportive e-mails, cards, visiting those who have ill loved ones, and visiting those loved ones have died.

Advocacy- There is many people that support us from the parish of St. Patrick. Those people are advocates for Youth Ministry and are willing to help us on our journey. Some of our advocates include our pastor, Fr. Ev, parish staff, our catechesis, parents and members of the parish community

Leadership- Through the leadership opportunities in our parish community, we are able to strengthen our faith and leadership skills. Leadership does not always mean being in charge, but simply being a part of something that needs to be done. We do this by attending Christian Leadership Institute, planning activities with the Planning Committee, going to parish meetings, singing with CIRCLES, the Archdiocesan Youth Commission, Youth Congress, and Retreat Team
