Rev. Dennis Colter


Fr. Colter was born in Waterloo in 1940 and attended Catholic schools there. After graduating from Loras College in 1962, he spent four years in theological seminary in Louvain, Belgium, and was ordained there in 1966. Father was assigned to various parishes and high schools in the Archdiocese of Dubuque and took further degrees from Fordham University in New York, Xavier University in Cincinnati, and the Angelicum in Rome. He has also been Vocation Director for the Archdiocese and a professor of theology at Loras College. In 2010, Fr. Colter attempted to retire but spent most weekends preaching across the country for the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. In September of 2011 he became full-time Parochial Administrator of St. Patrick and Pastor on March 1, 2012.

Yvette Andersen
  Yvette Andersen, Coordinator of Faith Formation for High School
Yvette Andersen came to St. Patrick from New Hampton, where she was the director at St. John's School of Religion. As the Coordinator of Faith Formation for High School, Yvette works with grades 9 - 12.

Jeff Byers
 

Jeff Byers, Maintenance & Custodial
I have been the full time custodian/jack-of-all trades at the church since September of 2000. I have been married to Kris for 23 years and have twin boys, Jacob and Lucas, that are 20. I have enjoyed getting to know many people in the church since starting as a part time employee and learning many new maintenance skills. In my free time, I enjoy playing XBox, exercising, and watching sporting events.

Mary Citta

 

Mary Citta, Co-Director of Liturgy and Choir Director

Mary joined the staff as Coordinator of Liturgy in June of 2007.   She is also the choir director, an organist and song leader.  Mary has been a musician at St. Pat’s since 1976.    She taught secondary music for 33 years, retiring from Waterloo West High in June of 2007.   Besides working at the church, she is the All-State Chorus Chairperson for the state.  She teaches at camps, directs festivals, judges and mentors through out the state. Mary is married to Steve Citta, the director of bands at Waterloo West High School.  They have two children, Stephanie (Scott) Klein and Joe.

Regena Huffman
 

Regena Huffman, Business Administrator
Regena came to St. Patrick in September of 2004 after 12 years at St. Stephen’s Catholic Student Center. She and husband Jan have four grown daughters, all living in the Cedar Valley area. They have seven grandchildren who are a constant source of joy! She is very involved and active at her Church, where she serves as treasurer and assists with the Children’s Ministry program. Interests include spending time with family, reading, making beaded jewelry and attending Indy Racing League events.

Rosi Klemmensen

Rosi Klemmensen, Receptionist & Bulletin Editor
My husband Ray and I moved to Cedar Falls and became members of St. Patrick Parish in 1990. Our marriage was blessed with two daughters, Holly and Heidi. Our daughter, Holly and husband Deon are proud parents of our first grand daughter, Olivia. They live in Orlando, FL. Heidi is a 5th grade teacher at Holy Trinity School in Des Moines. Ray and I enjoy our cat, Luna Oreo. I have enjoyed being a receptionist/secretary at the Parish Office since October of 2001, as of July 2010, I will assume the duties full time! I enjoy biking, walking, scrapbooking, crafts and watching most sports and any kind of chocolate. Our latest activity was ballroom dancing!

Peter Loving

 


Deacon Peter Loving, Pastoral Associate

Deacon Peter R. Loving, D.Min, brings many years of professional experience to St. Patrick. Loving received advanced degrees from St. Louis University (Religion and Education, Corporate Ministry) and Drew University (Ministry). In the early 80s, he served in Peru as a lay missioner. A former columnist for the South Texas Catholic, Loving’s writings also include such published works as “Luke: The Gospel of Womanhood” and “The Catechesis of Adults through the Sacramental Preparation of their Children”.

Ordained to the diaconate in 1990 for the Galveston-Houston diocese, he has offered retreats, workshops, and days of recollection in addition to regular preaching and teaching. Married to Antoinette for 30 years, the Lovings enjoy visiting their two adult children, Katie and Ben, living in St. Paul. Peter’s main responsibilities are RCIA (adult initiation), supervising and coordinating our extensive ministry to homebound, marriage preparation, and faith formation for adults. He also serves us liturgically as a deacon, preaching, witnessing marriages and baptizing.

Connie Munchoff
   Connie came to St Patrick's in January 2013 as the Coordinator of Children and Family Faith Formation. She graduated from Columbus, has a degree in secondary education and has taught and subbed in several area school districts. Connie also completed the three year Lay Formation program and has done Campus Ministry work. She and her husband Bill, have four children and three amazing grandchildren. Connie enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering for ConKerr Cancer & crocheting newborn caps for Covenant, quilting, reading and being outside.

Marcia Patin

   

Marcia joined our staff at St. Patrick as the bookkeeper in July 2013 when she and her husband, John moved back to their hometown of Waterloo after living for many years in Freeport, IL.  She graduated from West High School, and John graduated from Columbus High School. Previously, Marcia worked the last 9 years as an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper/Office Manager for a United Methodist church in Freeport. Prior to that she was the Development Director for the Freeport Catholic Schools. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Columbia College.  John and Marcia have been blessed with 2 children: Ben, 28, is a Commercial Graphic Artist for Gannett in Des Moines. Sarah, 24, is in her third year at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, after completing school she hopes to join an Optometry practice near the Cedar Valley area.  In her spare time, Marcia likes to spend time with family and friends, travel, read, walk, and shop. She is looking forward to living closer to family and being a part of the St. Patrick faith community.

Cindy Taft

Cindy Taft, Faith Formation Office Assistant
I was born and raised in the Queen City of the Ozarks, Springfield, Missouri where I attended St. Agnes Catholic school from 1st grade through high school. I went on to get my B.A. degree in Speech/Theatre from Drury University in Springfield. While working on my Masters degree in Theatre at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri, I met my future husband, Steve, when we performed in a children's play together. We have since lived in several different states during our 32 years of marriage including Texas, Alabama and Georgia.We moved to Iowa from Louisiana in 2000 with our three sons and two years later we welcomed our beautiful daughter. Steve is a Theatre professor at UNI. I enjoy writing children's short stories and wood carving. I am very excited to be working as the Faith Formation secretary at St. Patrick with such a wonderful group of people.
